How to Get Hired by Steve Jobs
Let’s talk about a story I read in Recession proof graduate.
A story about a person called Bas Ording.
Bas Ording was leaving the lobby of Apple’s headquarters, looking dejected.
Apple was searching for a graphic interface designer to help with the macOS. Unfortunately, the HR department weren’t impressed with Bas during his meeting.
Here’s where the story gets interesting.
Just as he was about to exit the lobby, he ran into Steve Jobs. Bas quickly opened his laptop and ran a demo for him in Adobe Director.
The demo showed how Apple could fit more applications in the dock.
The story gets even more interesting.
As his mouse cursor hovered over the applications, the size of the icons increased, as though they were under a magnifying glass.
“My God,” Jobs said.
I like C.J. Sivers opinion on publishing your story.
He’s fond of saying we are all publishers now, whether we asked to be or not.
Our information, our content, and our story is out there somewhere. And if we aren’t telling those stories, someone else will.
Bas told his story.
